Yes we have a designated patient parking space on the forecourt outside the clinic, and there is FREE street parking available locally in St Barnabas, except weekdays between 2pm and 3pm. There is also metered parking on Snakes Lane East a very short distance away.

Yes absolutely! We want to get you back to optimum health as soon as possible. Our standard 60 min New Patient appointment includes assessment AND treatment. We can offer a 30 minute appointment for New Patients but in most cases a 30 minute appointment won’t allow enough time to include (much) treatment after having usually spent at least 20 minutes taking a thorough case history and performing a comprehensive clinical assessment (such as testing reflexes, testing muscles and joints). The case history and assessment are important parts of the process in order to confirm an accurate (provisional) diagnosis and to establish the optimum and most cost effective treatment options and treatment plan. A 60 minute New Patient appointment is effectively a 30 minute initial appointment and a 30 minute follow up appointment back to back that costs less that booking two 30 minute appointments booked apart from each other, hence why we encourage all new patients to book in for 60 minutes.

Our Osteopaths offer exceptional hands on treatment, they are additionally trained in medical acupuncture and advanced electrotherapies (such as Laser, TECAR, shock wave therapy and spinal decompression). Our osteopaths also receive additional post graduate training in spinal MRI scan analysis, and via our Director Robert Shanks work in close liaison with many respected specialists in field Orthopaedic Medicine . Wherever possible we will give you a working diagnosis, a suggested treatment plan (including likely number of sessions needed, as well as what to do and where to go, if we can’t help you, we don’t like open ended scenarios with no plan anymore than you do!

As company director and co-founder Robert is part of the driving force behind our multidisciplinary approach. Robert has been strongly influenced by his mother, a chartered physiotherapist with 40 years’ experience. Robert graduated as an Osteopath in 2000 and subsequently furthered his education with several postgraduate courses, notably in medical acupuncture, electrotherapy and clinical Pilates (the latter with the renowned Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute). As well as treating sports injuries and tension headaches, Robert’s other main area of special interest is the management of patients with chronic low back pain and neck pain associated with disc problems.

Juan has been working at Spine Plus since 2013! Juan is a highly qualified and experienced osteopath, who is key member of the Spine Plus team. Juan has built a strong reputation for excellent hands-on therapy combined with a multidisciplinnary approach for treating back pain, sports injuries and other muscle and joint problems. Juan is currently our head trainer for clients requiring one to one corrective exercise, or who need to build their core strength and spinal stability.

Louise’s treatment approach is patient-centered and aims to integrate your goals and priorities into a taliored treatment plan that will enhance your capacity to adapt and recover. Having worked as a personal trainer for over 12 years she thrives on empowering her patients to make healthy lifestyle choices and guide them in preventative steps to achieve their goals for future health. Louise works at our Chigwell Clinic on Wednesday and Saturdays.
